where to get the best bean and cheese taco and a latte that might change your life
Hello!
I am currently wiping cheese dust from a bag of Pipcorn cheese balls from my fingers before typing this. Very good snack if you like salty, umami things with a better for you ingredient list. I am also currently drinking a bottle of Healthade Kombucha in the only flavor that matters: Passion Fruit Tangerine. I am an actual (unpaid) evangelist for this flavor and if you think you aren’t a kombucha person, you just haven’t had this exact one!!
I recently got back from a whirlwind 40 hour trip to NYC, where I managed to pack in some very necessary hugs, great canele, a life changing waffle, a perfect plate of char kway teow, while also attending a truly epic wedding at the TWA hotel. Will be including all of these in some very-near-in-the-future NYC guides.
This week though, we are heading to Austin. The number of DMs and emails I have gotten asking for an Austin guide is truly surprising. I don’t always love the state of Texas (the politics! not my favorite!), but I love Austin. It’s a powerhouse food city and instead a stupidly long guide to the city, I am going to break it up into a few parts (a reminder that these guides are for paid subscribers only.)
If you are looking for a ton of barbecue recs, this is the wrong guide for you, sorry!! I don’t love eating large pieces of protein and I definitely will not wait in line for them. If you want to know where to get the latte I dream about, my all-time favorite bean and cheese taco, and the best places to grab a drink, and where to find the pink cake I would get on plane for — then I absolutely got you.
