My Go-To Costco Purchases
why you should skip roses for vegetables this valentine's day, the silly little restaurant trend I find endearing, and more
If you are looking to help victims of the LA fires: There is a very cool online silent auction happening through Feb 12 called NY to LA, where all proceeds are being donated to those who lost their homes in January. Lots of fun offerings from cool companies Catbird, Nomadica wines, and Cheerie Lane (my favorite popcorn brand!). Go bid!
I received a truly glorious surprise in the mail this week — the very charming Valentine’s Day chocolate collection from two of my favorite Michiganders Bon Bon Bon x Jon Kung. It was a sweet reminder (pun intended) of the importance of surrounding yourself with playful, delicious, creative things in this era of true fuckery. The collection is a set of 14 beautiful chocolates that arrives with each chocolate lined up in a row to create an extremely long package. There is something about receiving a long strip of chocolates that is just delightful? A great thing to surprise someone with! ($55 + shipping)
What I love most about the collection is how unserious it is while also being a high quality product. There is a flavor simply called “Hung” and it’s banana cream pie flavored and another called Conce-quinces that is made with a “buttery bleu cheese ganache and quince confiture.” Godiva could never.
I also wanted to take a quick minute here to tell you/remind you that I wrote a cookbook that came out last year and I am honored to say that it is nominated for a Libby Award (Yes, that Libby!) This is very, very cool to me and also a nice chance to remind you to support your local library if you are not already a member!
Okay! Let’s get into it. Today’s newsletter will cover:
