My cookbook AMRIKAN: 125 Recipes from the Indian American Diaspora, is available wherever you like to buy books. Would very much appreciate it if you left a review, too. You can buy the book here.
The book has been on several end of year best lists, which is incredibly flattering including The Washington Post, the LA Times, Saveur, and NY Mag.
Hello!
It’s officially gift guide season and while I appreciate all the work that goes into each of these (they are truly a pain in the ass to put together), the constant messaging of buy this! buy that! buy more! can get very exhausting — especially when coming off of a year where many people are feeling their budgets tighten and we cannot continue to ignore the climate impact of it all. (That being said, it’s always worth supporting any small or independent business when you can.)
I have exactly two and a half recs for you this year:
Maybe because I am in my crafts-era (I cannot stop making charm bracelets), but i’m feeling a much more DIY approach to gifting this year. I will be giving most people exactly one thing and it truly requires about 10 minutes of effort on my end, but gives the receiver two gifts: both the present itself and the gift of convenience (my favorite gift of all!)
The $2 present that is great for basically everyone
+ MY COOKBOOK! makes a great gift!
