The Good, The Mid, The Bad #4
A free business idea, the wine I would never buy again, my favorite breakfast burrito, and more
Hello! I am exhausted and while I meant to send this last night, it was midnight and my eyes were shutting on me, so you might just get three newsletters this week! A bit of housekeeping: I was asked to share my pantry superstars with Biite Club and I wrote about some of my favorite Koreatown coffee shops for Bon Appetit. (If you’re looking for more coffeeshop in LA content, don’t skip my list of LA coffeeshops with parking— maybe the most useful list i’ve ever written.)
I was browsing Costco the other day after filling my cart with chia seeds, Kirland toilet paper (it’s really soft!) and big pack of Saint James Iced Tea and came across this blue raspberry lemonade clear… protein… soda (?!) that claims to have 30g of protein per can. The PROTEINMAXXING is getting deeply unhinged. I need to track down a can out of sheer curiousity, and I wish Costco would offer sample sizes a la perfume counters. Also how is blue raspberry, a completely made up flavor, still around? Has anyone tried this protein soda? I don’t know how you add 30g of protein to something and it not be thick in texture, and that concept of thick soda grosses me out.
Also a free business idea: someone please make make a chili crisp peanut butter. Would be great on toast, but also great as a short cut for dipping sauces/sauces for noodles.
Okay! Today’s newsletter includes:
— my new go-to one bowl brownie recipe that will impress everyone
— the latest brand collab that makes absolutely no sense
— the bottle of lambrusco I would never purchase again
— my thoughts on bananas these days
— the breakfast burrito I cannot stop eating
— and more!
