Hello! I spent the past couple of weeks knocked out with some wild virus that basically forced me to shut down, consume so much tv (I crushed Murderbot, both seasons of The Buccaneers, and so much Real Housewives), and eat way too much soup. I am happy to be back in the land of the living, solid foods, and no coughing.
I stopped by a preview of Sean Brock’s new LA restaurant and listening room Darling. I regret going, because now I need to figure out how to afford how to put a listening room in my house. The restaurant is quite big, so I am curious to see how the listening room area (which is the lounge in the front) will sonically compete with the general noise of a busy and large dining room.

If you are in LA, I am doing a fun collab dinner with the crew over at Etra on Tuesday, August 26. We are riffing on some dishes from my cookbook Amrikan with some fun twists. There will be saag paneer lasagna! And there’s a handful of reservations left! Bring a crew, I promise you’ll want to try everything. Indo-Italian is low key my favorite ~ fusion ~ cuisine lately.
I also wrote about how the Crunchwrap Supreme has become subsumed in the American culinary lexicon for Eater. (There’s a place in Minneapolis that makes over a million dollars a year on their Crunchwrap riffs! So wild.)
