Why Egg Prices Are Dropping For Most Restaurants But Not Consumers
how much food really costs at Coachella, the worst named products in CPG, and more
I forgot about how good blondies were until this past weekend. I was headed to a friend’s barbecue and wanted to show up with something sweet that wasn’t fussy and didn’t require too many eggs (they’re still SO expensive) or mixing bowls (because who wants to wash dishes). Blondies were the answer and the two recipes I made from Broma Bakery — a chai-spiced blondie and these super cute funfetti blondies — were a big hit. They truly require minimal baking skills to make, look impressive, and sit out well in the sun. I will absolutely be making them again.
Also is it just me or have coffee and matcha prices gotten out of control? A friend texted me that he had just paid $11.50 for a matcha latte with almond milk. Yesterday I paid nearly $8 for an iced vanilla latte. I’ve been tracking the prices of iced vanilla lattes around LA and the average price is definitely north of $7. I remember when people would say that not drinking Starbucks “$5 coffees” every day is the best and quickest way to save money, but I am pretty sure its hard to get a $5 drinks at Starbucks these days, too.
I am curious to know, what is the maximum you would pay for a cup of coffee? A matcha? An iced latte?
